Therapists, how do you deal with a silent session? I had a *former* therapist kick me out of session and told me to think about what I wanted to discuss the next week like I wasted her time. That next session was the last btw.

Should a therapist check referrals before making one? My therapist referred me to two therapists, but they weren’t accepting new clients. So she told me to call my insurance. I’m ridiculously bothered by this. She terminates me and can’t even refer?

Do psychotherapists take a vacation even though they are seeing clients weekly and would miss two appointments in a row (I assume 2-4 weeks vacation time)? Wouldn't that be bad for therapy progress as it disrupts the healing process?

If in the middle of a session, you feel your therapist is not focusing on the thing you want to work on, would you try to stop s/he and ask? A lot of time, I was only aware after the session. It seems to me now I’m losing some valuable session time.
