Is it ethical for my therapist to charge me for going over time when he doesn’t keep track of the time? He just suddenly looks at his watch and is surprised we are over time and then I see the charge on my card without any advance discussion.

Do therapists/psychologist become emotionless? Does hearing so many sad stories make them feel numb, I want to become a therapist but I feel like over time I won't feel as strongly as I should because I'd be so used to tragic stories.
