Many therapists have said they can tell when someone is dissociating and have stated there are signs it's happening. If that's truely the case, and it appears obvious to you… Why does it take 8 years and 3 misdiagnosises before you recognize DID?

When feeling really overwhelmed I tend to instantly dissociate with a blink of an eye, there I am in a different reality, how do I cope with this and prevent it from happening if it happens so fast I’m not given a chance to find a way to stop it?
