Steam, the gaming platform developed by Valve Corporation, has a feature that allows users to see if their friends are online. Here's how you can check if your friend is online on Steam:
Steam Client (Desktop Application):
Open the Steam client on your computer.
Log in to your Steam account if you haven't already.
On the top-right corner of the Steam window, you'll see your Steam profile name. Below it, you should see a small arrow pointing downwards. Click on this arrow to open the Friends list.
In the Friends list, you'll see a list of your friends who are online. Their online status will be displayed next to their profile name. It will show them as "Online" if they are currently active on Steam.
Steam Mobile App:
- If you have the Steam mobile app on your phone, open it.
- Log in to your Steam account.
- Tap on the "Friends" icon (usually located at the bottom of the screen).
- In the Friends list, you'll see your friends who are online, and their online status will be displayed next to their profile name.
Please note that users have the option to appear offline or set their online status to "Invisible" on Steam. If your friend has chosen to appear offline, you won't be able to see their online status even if they are currently using Steam.
Additionally, it's worth mentioning that Steam's interface and features might change over time, so if you are using a version of Steam after 2023, there may be slight differences in the user interface. However, the basic process of checking a friend's online status should be similar.
