How can I find old family records? I've tried ancestry and such, but I can't even find a death record for a relative that I know is dead. It's difficult to find papers on him since he was an immigrant too. What can I try?

Your sister's daughter is your niece. Her daughter is your great-niece. So, your sister's daughter's daughter is your great-niece as well.
