In the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the "I" stands for "Introverted." The MBTI is a popular personality assessment tool based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological types. It was developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother, Katharine Cook Briggs.

The MBTI classifies individuals into sixteen different personality types based on four dichotomies:

  1. E (Extraversion) - I (Introversion)
  2. S (Sensing) - N (Intuition)
  3. T (Thinking) - F (Feeling)
  4. J (Judging) - P (Perceiving)

Each letter represents a preference for one end of the dichotomy. In the case of INFJ:

  • "I" represents Introverted: People with this preference tend to focus their energy on their inner world, preferring solitude or smaller groups, and find social interactions draining or requiring more effort.
  • "N" represents Intuition: Individuals with this preference rely on their intuition and imagination to interpret and process information. They are more focused on patterns and possibilities rather than concrete details.
  • "F" represents Feeling: This preference indicates that individuals make decisions based on personal values, emotions, and the impact on others, emphasizing empathy and compassion.
  • "J" represents Judging: People with this preference prefer structure, organization, and closure. They like to plan and make decisions, and they may have a more decisive nature.

The INFJ personality type is often described as the "Advocate" or the "Counselor." People with this personality type are known for their deep insights into others, empathy, and a strong sense of idealism. They are often highly intuitive and seek to make a positive impact on the world around them. INFJs are introverted, but they can also be socially adept and enjoy meaningful connections with others.
