Human evolution occurred long before the events described in the Indian epic Ramayana. The Ramayana is an ancient Hindu epic that is traditionally attributed to the sage Valmiki and is believed to have been composed between the 7th and 4th centuries BCE. It tells the story of Lord Rama, who is considered a divine incarnation in Hindu mythology.

On the other hand, human evolution began millions of years ago. The most recent common ancestors of modern humans (Homo sapiens) and our closest relatives, such as Neanderthals and Denisovans, lived around 300,000 to 700,000 years ago. The genus Homo, to which modern humans belong, emerged around 2.8 million years ago with species like Homo habilis. Later, Homo erectus and Homo neanderthalensis (Neanderthals) appeared, and eventually, Homo sapiens emerged around 300,000 to 200,000 years ago in Africa.

It's essential to understand that the Ramayana is a work of mythology and religious storytelling, while human evolution is a scientific concept supported by extensive fossil evidence, genetic research, and archaeological findings. These two realms belong to different domains—mythology and history/science—and should be interpreted accordingly.
